One of the less photographed lighthouse in Maine, you have to drive on a less traveled dirt road 3 miles up the mountain and down in Arrowsic Island, Maine to be able to reach the scenic location of the Doubling Point Light overlooking the Kennebec River. This octagonal 23-foot wooden tower stands well out of the river resting atop a granite and brick pier connected to the shore by a wooden walkway.

Established in 1898, the Doubling Point Light is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. One of the many lighthouses along the Kennebec River which guides mariners along the river, its red and white light atop the tower flashes from 33 feet above the high water.
